Composing Death of Albine

We believe that while computers are really great at certain tasks, sometimes real life recordings cannot be beaten. That’s why we use session musicians to help bring an organic warmth and human soul to our compositions. When we were first approached by director Mike Sharpe of Found Studio to work on his new short film ‘Death of Albine’, we knew that a powerful orchestral score was the approach we wanted to take. The film is without dialogue and therefore the music was fundamental to tell the character’s emotional journey.

‘Death of Albine’ is a collaborative film project between director Mike Sharpe and British installation artist Rebecca Louise Law. The film takes inspiration from the French novel ‘The Sinful Priest’. Arranger and orchestrator Drew Morgan translated the piece for the Bristol Ensemble who played the piece live. The session was recorded at Invada Studios in Bristol. Check out the results below.
